Since 2015, the art theory estate of Fritz Seitz (1926–2017) has been held by the Willi Baumeister Foundation. Seitz, who studied under Willi Baumeister from 1950 to 1954, developed a new approach to colour in the 1960s.

Fritz Seitz’s art theory is currently being revisited. His publications on the subject of colour comprise 36 brochures, published between 1962 and 1984. The art educator innovatively combined the teaching of colour with examples of applied art.

Esther Hagenlocher, Associate Professor, University of Oregon, U.S.A., is collaborating with the Willi Baumeister Foundation and the Baumeister Archive at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart to develop the first scholarly catalogue for English-language art history.
